Mr. Magnus was responsible for all aspects of the company, where he wrote and edited articles obtained from attorneys, engineers, EPA representatives, state agencies, remediation experts, and related professionals. The company was sold by Mr. Magnus after he operated it successfully for five years.

Successfully launched a small environmental consulting firm that provided services to industrial clients, developers, and environmental attorneys. Focus was RCRA permit negotiations, environmental audits and site assessments. Clients included large industrial and commercial companies such as Southern States, Law Companies Group, and GE.

Owner/co-founder, DE Valley Computer User Magazine, Newark, DE

Co-founder of a monthly computer magazine circulated throughout the DE Valley (Philadelphia, Trenton & Wilmington): start-up, marketing, editorial content, and management. Mr. Magnus sold his interest in the company to partners after a successful launch. He also provided environmental consulting services (environmental audits and related projects) to existing clients while launching this company.

Responsible for managing the firm’s Environmental Compliance Dept. as a Department Manager. Promotion received (Project Mgr. to Dept. Mgr.) in less than a year with the firm. Responsibilities included permit negotiations, industrial audits, sales, and client development. In addition, Mr. Magnus taught continuing education classes and served on Cobb County’s Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, Richmond, VA

Project manager, computer modeler, and field geologist for projects such as installation of ground-water monitoring wells at Andrews Air Force Base, coal seam conductivity testing (packer testing), groundwater sampling and subsequent modeling for Defense General Supply Center, etc.

Assistant Technical Director, Geologist, A.T. Kearney, Alexandria, VA

Hired by management consulting firm (environmental division) as a project manager and promoted to Assistant Technical Director after six months with the firm. Provided support for government contracts (RCRA, EPA contracts). Mr. Magnus was responsible for managing employees and multiple sub-contractors performing RCRA Facility Assessments and related EPA projects throughout the United States.
