DIY Concrete Countertop
I came across Michael Builds on YouTube. He claims he has by far the best method for making a DIY concrete countertop – in one hour! Well, getting the supplies and making the form will take you more than an hour. But, the DIY concrete countertop method he uses looks solid overall. I plan to make a few in the future so I did a bit of research. One method considered was the Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) method. Unfortunately, this method isn’t easy (rather complicated), requires specialty tools as well as materials that aren’t easy to find in the home stores.
Anyway, here’s the list of products and tools needed for the concrete countertop according to the YouTube video below:
- 55 lb. Mortar Mix
- Flow Control
- Mixing Paddle
- 12” Trowel
- Bucket trowel
- Sealer: Stone care granite and stone sealer

Let me know if you give it a go! I’ll update this page after I give the easy concrete countertop in one hour a shot.
On another note, one cool project I previously completed is a DIY Patio Fire Pit Table where I used a granite slab as the top. That is a significantly more expensive top ($500) but really looks great.
